Shiroda locals request CM to install mobile towers

PONDA: The villagers from different areas of Shiroda on Tuesday requested Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant for installation of mobile network towers.

Devadde, Dhulpe, Makadsai, Sakharwal, Paz, Dhanasade, Torl, Udden and Chikangal villagers said in the absence of mobile towers in the villages, they and especially the students face hardships for their online classes due to network and internet connectivity.

The villagers pointed out that there are over 2,000 people of Paz Ward which include 1,470 voters as per the electoral roll. Besides, there are 600 not eligible to vote mostly school students and more than 400 migrants.

The locals reminded that the Chief Minister had promised to provide them mobile towers in one of the corner meeting held at Shiroda in the past.

In order to get internet connectivity, the locals said the students travel 4 to 5 kms from their home and sit by the roadside and also in the mountain areas to get connected putting their lives at risk to snake bites and attacks by wild animals.
