PONDA: The Shigmo Committee 2015 Shiroda in association with Goa Toursim Development Corporation (GTDC) will organise a Shigmo festival from Wednesday evening. As part of its programme, a Konkani Drama ‘Tom and Jerry’ will be staged on March 18 at 8 pm, while the Shigmo float parade, which includes the Romtamel, Folk dance and fancy dress will take place on March 19 at 6 pm. On account of the declaration of ZP and the Code of Conduct in force, no organisation can hold the festivities with the exception of committees constituted by the government.
The committee organising the events consists of Ponda Municipal Council Chief Officer Johnson Fernandes and eight other officials, including PWD engineers, head clerks and other government officials.
