PONDA: In what is appearing to be a common trend across the State, villagers from Shiroda were also left unsatisfied after the field surveyors sent to their village for a presentation on the Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) were unable to provide the villagers with responses to their queries.
Locals added that the ‘useless’ presentation scheduled on Thursday was not fruitful and was a waste of time.
Reshma Fernandes lamented that not only were the persons deployed lacking knowledge in Shiroda’s CZMP, they had brought the same old CZMP plan that had been scrapped by the villagers. Locals were upset that even though they had prepared a new plan, which had already been submitted to the government, the field surveyors didn’t use the same.
Field surveyor Vinayak Katambale from the office of the Inspector of land and Survey record Margao was present for the presentation organized by the Directorate of Panchayats.
Locals resolved that a new presentation be held once experts are sent along with the CZMP plan prepared by them. They added that they wanted to know if there was any further clarifications or corrections required to their plan.
