Shiv Sena for lockdown

PANJIM: The Shiv Sena, Goa unit on Tuesday urged the State government to launch COVID-19 self-assessment tool and to impose at least 10 days lockdown in the State to prevent the spread of dreaded Coronavirus.

Speaking to the reporters, Shiv Sena Goa Unit President Jitesh Kamat said that rising COVID-19 deaths in the State was alarming and the government should immediately take all stakeholders into confidence and enforce at least 10 days lockdown in the State to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

He said that the government should constitute an action committee and impose lockdown in a planned manner so as to save lives of the people and without taking any political mileage from it.

Kamat said that when Maharashtra government listed Goa and five other States as a ‘place of sensitive origin’ for COVID-19 infection, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane criticised the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and failed to take measures which could have saved lives of the people.
