VASCO: The Mormugao Municipal Council Chief Officer acting on a complaint filed by Vasco Niz Goenkar Revolution Front (NGRF) has issued show cause notices to around 12 to 14 shops in the old vegetable market for illegally installing rolling shutters and running mobile gallery business without the permissions from local authorities.
On Thursday, NGRF member Chandrashekhar Vast informed that he had filed a written complaint to the MMC Chief Officer bringing to his notice that several shops have come up in the old vegetable market area in Vasco. These shops have also installed metallic rolling shutters illegally.
He further informed that nobody can covert a shop into a mobile gallery in the vegetable market, and if done, it is illegal.
In his letter, Vast also claimed that these mobile galleries do not have any permission from the local authorities to run the business nor they have permission to install rolling metallic shutters for their shops, which is totally illegal.
Vast mentioned that the chief officer must take immediate action against these illegalities which has been highlighted by the NGRF.
Later, when contacted Chief officer Arvind Bugde informed that he has issued show cause notices to around 12 to 14 shops in the old vegetable market and action will be initiated soon.
