MARGAO: The Department of Weight and Measures officials raided electronics, electrical and car accessories shops in Aquem and railway station area on Thursday. During the raid the officials seized around Rs 3 lakh goods which include China make LED bulbs, LED lights and other car accessories. The officer-in-charge of the administration K B Kossambe, Assistant Controller Arun Panchawadkar, Investigation Officer Kandolkar, Sudhir Gaavkar and Sadashiv Desai were in the action team. During the operation it was revealed that the goods worth Rs 3 lakh which were seized which included electricity appliances, domestic appliances, vehicle electrical goods and others were in contravention of the Weights and Measure Act. The officer informed that there were complaints to the department regarding the car accessories shop hence they took action.
