PANJIM: In view of panchayat elections, the North Goa District Collector has ordered all restaurants, bars, tea shops and other establishments, located within 200 metres of the polling stations, situated in the boll-bound panchayat areas, to remain closed on August 10 and 12, which is a polling and counting day, respectively.
The District Collector has further banned any gathering or crowd comprising more than five persons within 200 metres of any polling stations of respective Talukas in North Goa District.
The restrictions will not apply to public servants on duty and to bonafide marriage or funeral processions or religious processions/functions.
The order will also not apply to the authorised officers on Election Duty by the State government, including the Polling officials, Magistrates, Police officials and government staff.
