Short staff, less vehicles keeping Cuncolim Police from performing efficiently

MARGAO: Cuncolim Police Station that has a vast jurisdiction is gravely short staff and in shortage of police vehicles for which they are failing to work efficiently towards the safety of the locals.

Taking into account the above situations ‘Green Goa Foundation’ (GGF), an organization working towards the social issues on Monday urged the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, and other concerned authorities to look into the matter at the earliest.

GGF Chairman Raison Almeida has submitted a memorandum to the office of Chief Minister in this regard.  GGF has observed that the police vehicles do not reach the accident site on time so they urged the above authorities to take action within 30 days, failing which they will approach the High Court.

In the memorandum GGF has stated that Cuncolim Police Station has jurisdiction from Chinchinim junction to village Paddi, and Cuncolim Industrial Estate to Cutbona jetty, covering several schools, churches, temples and offices and factories.
