The issue of show-cause notice to Shimnit Utsch for the termination of high security registration plate (HSRP) contract has now dragged on further.
Transport Director Arun Desai said that the file was yet to be received from Advocate General (AG) till today evening and now it is likely to come on Monday.
“We have not yet received file from AG’s office. Hence the notice was not issued…Now it will be only on Monday,” Desai told Herald.
He said that a week’s time will be given to the company to reply. “All the procedures will be followed before terminating the contract,” he said.
Last week, High Court had directed State government to issue show-cause notice to the company before termination of the contract. The directions had come after company raised the issue that they have been not informed about the termination of the contract by the government.
The Srivastava committee, appointed by the government, had pointed out several irregularities in the HSRP contract and had said that the tender process has been vitiated by the government. The state cabinet thereafter had taken a decision to terminate the contract with Shimnit Utsch.
The company in their petition before the court had pointed out that all the allegations made by the government committee do not stand after awarding the contract. These points should have highlighted before awarding the tender.
