Show must go on: former Tourism minister tells new minister Rohan Khaunte

PANJIM: New tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said that Goa will have the world class tourist facilities that will bring in more tourists to the state. When questioned about the former Tourism Minister’s work he said that there are things that need to be put in place and need to be planned properly. Meanwhile, former Minister Manohar Babu Azgaonkar said that the show must go on and the new Tourism Minister should take up the pending assignments.

Rohan speaking to media said that “We need to review all the matters and concerns related to tourism, we also need to understand that when it comes to foreign exchange, how much money come from the foreign tourist and whether it is helping the GDP, we also need to look at the technicality of things and the infrastructure.” 

Commenting on the revenue aspect he said there are revenue leakages, which if they can give huge boost to the existing system.

While Former Tourism Minister Manohar (Babu) Azgaonkar. “I believe that Goa and people across the country and World know how much Babu has done in the tourism sector of Goa and taken tourism to the next level. There is a lot of infrastructure that I have done, I am proud to say that during my time I have seen and managed to bring in more than 1.25cr plus tourists in the state in one year. Rohan has to use his mind and techniques to take tourism to a much higher level.”
