PANJIM, DEC 10 Panjim police squad today raided three city-based luxurious showrooms and seized duplicated branded materials worth Rs 55,000.

Panjim police squad today raided three city-based luxurious showrooms and seized duplicated branded materials worth Rs 55,000.
Police Sub-Inspector Vijay Chodankar told reporters that two showrooms located on the 18th June road and one mall on the Atmaram Borkar road were searched during the morning hours.
He said that materials like waist belts, purses, cufflings and wallets were sold at throw away prices, all of which have been seized. “The outlets sold duplicated materials of German branded companies like Channel, Cartier and Montblanc,” he said.
The raids were conducted after a complaint was filed by Anil Kumar, investigation officer of the Strategic Intellectual Property Information Private Ltd, Delhi, on Friday morning.
Police have registered a case under Section 420 (Cheating) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 51 and 63 of the Copyright Act.
