Shramik special train with 1600 passengers leaves for UP

Shramik special train with 1600 passengers on board left from Karmali Railway station for Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. 

This is in addition to another that left for Jiribam (Manipur) with 817 passengers from Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura. 

The train left from Karmali at 5.50 pm on Thursday, while the one from Margao left at 7.32 am. The railway officials informed that another 400 passengers from Manipur will board the Shramik Special train at Bhopal.

Herald spoke to some passengers who informed that they were working in various sectors and establishments ranging from airport services to hotel industry in Goa. 

A passenger, who was working at the airport, informed that they have been asked to take a break and as soon as the trains begin they will be called back. 

“We don’t know how the situation will improve. Because of the off-season in Goa we are leaving hoping to come back soon” said a traveller.
