MARGAO: Assuring that Goa will get the special package in the tourism sector, besides special preference while implementing the national policies, Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism Shripad Yesso Naik on Wednesday informed that the Water Sports Institute at Caranzalem and Catering College at Farmagudi will see the daylight soon.

Addressing media persons on the sidelines of the function organised by Goa Seafarers’ Association of India (GSAI) at Margao, he said, “There is a need for good tourism policies to revive the economy of Goa, which has been badly affected due to COVID-19.”
“We will discuss with the State government regarding the new project in the tourism sector besides others and thereafter the proposals will be submitted to the Central government”, he said.
“Goa will be definitely included in the central policies pertaining to tourism. Yes, Goa is a tourism State, will be given preference. We will see that tourism starts at the earliest in Goa,” he said.
Shripad said, “The Water Sports Institute at Caranzalem will be inaugurated in the next few days. Besides, the process of the proposed Catering College project at Farmagudi will be expedited.”
He assured that no project related to Ayush Ministry will be affected due to change in his portfolios.
“The project pertaining to All India Institute of Ayurveda at Dhargal will be completed by next year. The work of District Ayush Hospital at Moti-Dongor in Margao has commenced. However, the work of the second Ayush District Hospital in the North has been halted due to land issues but will be completed soon”, he added.
Shripad said “Ayurveda OPDs on the ground floor at a government hospital in Ribandar will commence soon.”
