PANJIM: Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Shripad Naik, on Tuesday said that two institutions under his ministry would be set up in Goa which would create employment opportunities.
“I am trying to set up the National Institute of Naturopathy and Ayurvedic Centre in Goa under my ministry,” Naik said.
He said that during his last term as Union minister for tourism, he had passed tourism projects worth almost Rs 100 crore in Goa, which included a Hotel Management College, Water Sports Park and Jetty at Mormugao for cruise boats.
Naik said that with the new projects, the issue of employment, health and industry would receive a helping hand.
Naik was addressing the media at the BJP headquarters on the completion of one year of the Narendra Modi government. He said the BJP-led government has been fulfilling all the pre-poll promises.
“Congress had failed to form even a SIT to probe black money. But Modi constituted the SIT within a day. Slowly we are getting names of the people and attempts are on to get back black money,” Naik said.
Naik said the Modi government had done a lot of development in the last year, but he felt sad that the opposition is unnecessary criticizing the development. “We will continue doing development in the State. We are for development which would be completed during the term. Congress wants all the development to happen in one year,” Naik said.
Says building Ram Mandir isn’t govt’s job
PANJIM: Union Minister Shripad Naik on Tuesday said that the building the Ram Mandir is not the job of the government, but claimed that the issue of Ram Mandir remains on the BJP agenda. “Temple construction is a work for the nation,” he said. “The government is ready to help the construction of Ram Mandir. But the issue should be solved mutually. The govt can provide the help but the actual construction should be done by organizations which are fighting for it,” Naik said, while responding to a question at a press conference. Naik said the Ram Mandir is a complicated issue and it will take time to settle.” “We are taking this up as a work for the nation. The issue is currently subjudice. If the land is available then the temple can be constructed,” he said.
