PANJIM: The parents of teenager late Siddhi Naik on Tuesday said that they will not allow the police to close the murder case and demanded justice for their daughter.

Reacting sharply to the news that Crime Branch had filed a closure report in his daughter Siddhi Naik’s murder case, her father Sandeep Naik said, “We will not allow the police to close the case, we want justice.”

He accused the Crime Branch of doing nothing since taking over the investigations in December last year.

“The police illegally lifted the body. They are trying to cover up the murder,” he alleged claiming that there are so many unanswered questions.

Demanding to know what kind of investigations the Crime Branch police carried out on her daughter’s case, Naik alleged that the Crime Branch only collected the case file from the Calangute Police and kept in their drawers.

“On what basis are you trying to close the case? We want justice,” he said.

According to Naik, two PSIs attached to the Calangute Police Station were aware of the matter and suspected that they were trying to hush up the murder case.

Siddhi’s mother and sister Simran also demanded justice to her.

“The police owe answers to questions like how Siddhi reached Calangute Beach”, they said in an emotionally choked voice.
