Sidhi’s parents want update on daughter’s murder case

Threaten to move court if foul play is found in RTI

MAPUSA: Parents of Sidhi Naik on Monday approached the Calangute Police Station Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo to inquire about the status of alleged murder case and threatened to move the court if found foul play in the Right to Information Act (RTI).

The parents said that they find their daughter’s (Sidhi) death suspicious and had filed a complaint to investigate the case as murder. However, police denied to file an FIR.

“We have a doubt that our daughter was murdered. There is a complete fault on the part of doctors conducting the post-mortem examination, who did not preserve the viscera of the victim,” the parents claimed.

When we met Director General of Police, he said an inquiry will be conducted in the case. But till now, an FIR is not registered, on what basis, the police will conduct an inquiry,” questioned father Sandeep Naik.

“We came to the police station to ask for the mobile handset of Sidhi, which is kept in police custody. If the police have not got any evidence from her mobile then why is the phone kept in the custody,” he said.

“We had asked the police to get call details of the doctors since we feel that the case is manipulated and has an involvement of a political person. The Superintendent of Police told us that he does not have power. We want to ask if the police do not have power then who has the power to thoroughly investigate the case,” they said while fighting for justice for their daughter.

“If the police found body of an unknown person they preserve the viscera and body. Then in this case, when a girl is found in suspicious condition why the viscera was not preserved,” said the parents.

“We have filed an RTI and if we find any evidence tampered then we will approach the court,” said the father.
