Signature forged to buy SIM card

The forensic report received from the deputy government examiner of GEQD, Hyderabad has proved forgery on the part of accused Vinayak Patil relating to the signature of Sonia Gaonkar for the purchase of a SIM card of Vodafone used for the commission of crime relating to terrorist activities, the NIA has submitted to the Sessions Court Margao.
The NIA has claimed that the CFSL opinion dated May 31, 2010 of Dr Sukhminder Kaur, Asisstant Director (Explosives) CFSL, Hyderabad has established that the wearing apparels of accused Vinayak Patil contained ingredients of explosives substances.
“This incriminating evidence thus establishes the commission of offenses punishable under sections 420, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code on the part of accused Vinayak Patil and he is liable to be prosecuted for the same in addition to the offenses under 120-B, sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act and section 16, 18 and 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The NIA has further submitted for the South Goa Sessions Court that various CFSL reports have been received from Hyderabad which further corroborates the evidence collected against the accused persons, including the four accused already chargesheeted.
