MARGAO: Welcoming the decision to provide two special trains for Vailankanni, Velim MLA Benjamin Silva has written to Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar requesting that the train leaving on August 27 be provided with additional compartments.
Silva said that a large number of faithful from his constituency and other areas had approached him raising concerns that the tickets on the train leaving on August 27 and that will reach Vailankanni on August 29 will be sold out quickly.
While appealing to the two central ministers, Silva said that on August 29 there is a flag hoisting religious ceremony at the Church which, as such there is a high demand for the August 27 train.
Hoping that the government will consider his decision and add additional bogies/compartments, Silva thanked the government for providing the special trains.
