ANJUNA: The Anjuna police have registered a case against eight individuals, including staff members of El Patron restaurant/cafe, for assaulting Shahid Siddiqui and James Savio Souza.
According to the complaint filed by James Souza, a resident of Xelpem-Duler, Mapusa, the incident occurred on May 17 around 7.45 pm at El Patron restaurant/café in Vaddy, Siolim. The accused, identified as Akshit Shetty and Uday Sen, along with six other staff members of the restaurant, allegedly assaulted Siddiqui. Furthermore, Uday Sen reportedly assaulted Souza with a baseball bat and wooden sticks, causing injuries to his shoulder.
The Anjuna police have registered a case against the accused under Section 324 read with Section 34 of the IPC. PSI Ramesh Harijan is leading the investigation.
