PANJIM/MAPUSA: Residents and daily commuters in Bardez are expressed concern over the deplorable condition of the road that connects Kirti Vidhyalaya to Siolim Bridge. This vital thoroughfare has now become a cause for widespread worry due to its deteriorating state, which has turned it into a potential hazard.
Hardly two months back, patch work of this was taken up with minor soling however it was washed off in the rains, as a result the road has once again developed huge potholes giving people a jumpy ride.
“The potholes were leveled with mud while some potholes were leveled with concrete but the soling was washed off in the rain and now the road is not in condition for commuting,” a local said.
“Pregnant women, senior citizens face major inconvenience because of the uneven roads full of potholes. Also the road was dug to take up work of underground cabling which has added to the bad condition of the road”, another local said. The residents have urged the authorities and the government to repair this road before any major accident occurs.
