ANJUNA: The CCTV footage of the movements in the Siolim school campus, where a senior teacher is accused of raping a primary student, was on Saturday sent for forensic analysis to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Hyderabad.
The footage contains data of a month before the day the victim’s mother filed a complaint at Anjuna Police Station on August 19.
“The footage does not show accused’s presence at the crime spots identified by the victim during the course of the investigation. However, evidence obtained from the school authorities has been sent to CFSL Hyderabad to scientifically ascertain the revelations,” police sources said.
The report is expected in a couple of weeks with Anjuna police likely to chargesheet the case in the coming week. “Once we get the forensic report, we will submit a supplementary copy to the court,” sources said.
The teacher was arrested on Saturday and released on bail based on conditions imposed by Children’s Court while granting him anticipatory bail on Friday. He was sent for medical examination at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC).
The girl had complained to her mother that a teacher had molested her at least three times in the campus before allegedly raping her in the toilet.
