PANJIM: Vikrant Shetty has been rearrested by the Special Investigative Team (SIT) in connection with a case of land grabbing in Anjuna. Shetty was the first accused to be arrested in land grabbing cases after the SIT started investigation. He was earlier arrested at Mumbai airport in June 2022.
An FIR was registered by the Crime Branch in late 2022 in connection with grabbing a property known as ‘Sonar Bhat’ under Survey number 426/15 admeasuring 875 sq.mtrs situated at Anjuna Bardez.
The complaint was filed by Justine Rafael D’Souza from Anjuna against several persons for grabbing her property by hatching a criminal conspiracy through Archives and Archaeology Department staff and fraudulently transferring the rights of their property.
