Site inspection held in Sancoale for construction of two projects

... namely, crematorium and police station

Vasco:A site inspection in Zuarinagar to acquire land of 1,000 sq mtrs for building a Hindu crematorium; and another inspection at Upasnagar to acquire land of 10,000 sq mtrs for building a Police station complex; was held in the presence of Cortalim MLA Alina Saldhana, South Goa comunidade administrator and the Sancoale comunidade committee.

Tulshidas Naik, BJP South Goa district president and Sancoale panch member stated that the first site inspection was carried out because there is no Hindu crematorium from Zuarinanagar to Upasnagar stretch. He said that the Cortalim MLA had identified the place and requested the Sancoale comunidade committee and South Goa comunidade administrator to give some land to build a Hindu crematorium for the people. The land of 1000 sqmtr has been identified and shortly the procedure will start, he said. “Administrator and comunidade have asked to submit the proposal to them and promised to the NOC for this work,” said the Panch.

He further alleged that in Zuarinagar area at one place there was an encroachment from one person over comunidade land and that after seeing the alleged illegality, the administrator of comunidade ordered the concerned authority to demolish the structures and clear the premises.

Naik informed that during the second inspection, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Raju Raut Dessai was also present, who submitted the proposal of this project to Saldhana and the Sancoale communidade president.

 “This inspection was conducted to identify the land at Upasnagar area to build a dedicated Police station complex wherein the Verna Police station will also be shifted to this premise,” Naik added 

He added that the land required for the purpose of building Police station is 10,000 sq mtrs. The comunidade member assured the DySP to look into the matter.
