MARGAO: Margao Town Police on Sunday booked six persons for rioting and attempt to murder following a complaint lodged by one Ansar Narangi against the accused who assaulted his friend Maqbool Khan (28) at around 3 pm at the gadda outside the Konkan Railway Station on Aquem side.
Previous enmity is reported to be the reason of the grievous attack when the six attacked Maqbool with deadly weapons including koita causing grievous injuries for which the victims is undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College Hospital, Bambolim.
The six booked are Gokul and Vipul both from Navelim, Urman from Davorlim and Sadique, Pandey and Raja Talwar whose place of residence is not known. They have been booked under sections 143, 147, 148, 326 and 307 of the Indian Penal Code read with section 149 for unlawful assembly, rioting with deadly weapons and attempt to murder.
