PANJIM: Crime Branch of Goa Police arrested six persons and recovered more than Rs 60,000 in three different raids on gambling activities in Ponda and Nagoa.
According to SP Crime Pankaj Kumar Singh, the first raid was conducted at old bus stand in Ponda where accused Rajesh (44 years), Sagar (41 years) and Sandeep (38 years) were caught while accepting gambling bids. Gambling articles and cash of Rs 15,200 were recovered from them.
The second raid was conducted near fish market in Nagoa in Salcete where accused Manoranjan Gill (38 years) and Francis Fernandes (59 years) were caught while accepting gambling bids. Rs 28,120 along with other gambling articles were recovered from them.
Singh informed that the third raid was conducted near Commerce Centre in Tisk, Ponda where accused Toufik (33 years) was caught while accepting gambling bids. Gambling articles and cash of Rs 17,170 were recovered from him.
