MARGAO: A group of six panchayat members of the Navelim panchayat have tabled a no-confidence notice against Deputy Sarpanch Damodar Parshuram Chavan.
Chavan said that he will face the motion even as he rebuffed the reasons put forth by the panch members as the basis for the motion. The six panch members who have signed the no-confidence motion include Sarpanch Lucia Carvalho, Velinda Afonso, Esmeraldina Coelho, Evelina Braganza, Robin Rodrigues and Mariano Paulo Pereira. They claimed that the Deputy Sarpanch failed to take them into confidence while taking decisions and acted in an authoritative and dictatorial manner.
Responding to the no-confidence notice, Chavan said that he cannot be the final decision-maker while the Sarpanch is in charge.
