Panjim: Entire Panjim Smart City project will be completed by the
end of 2023. The total cost of this project is 952.90 crores wherein 335.42
crores work has been completed till date says Chief Minister Dr.Pramod Sawant.
Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa
said that Smart City is a complete mess, there is negligence and corruption
happening and demanded to know actions on 600 Cr spent by Government in the
past, wherein Chief Minister Sawant said that already inquiry has been set up
and investigation is on. Presently nearly 6 agencies are total engaged in the
smart city works.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Yuri Alemao said that Smart city is
an “Gotala” and demanded house committee over this issue For 7 years work of
Smart City is going on. Public funds have gone to water. There is no
coordination between Departments. Adil Shah Palace structural audit is not
done. Panjim is not becoming Smart but Shitty City, says leader of opposition Yuri,
however Chief Minister said that there is no corruption presently, reply to the
past scam he said that show cause notices have been issued to the previous
contractors and action will be taken.
