SANGUEM: The Presiding Officer for Sanguem Municipal Council (SMC) elections Manoj Korgaonkar has received two nominations each for the posts of chairperson and Vice chairperson.
Sweta Supraj Naik Tari and Fouziya Shaikh have filed their nominations for the chairperson’s post which is reserved for women.
Queiroz Cruz and Messiah da Costa filed their papers for the vice-chairperson’s post.
Sweta Supraj Naik Tari and Queiroz Cruz from BJP camp are likely to be elected as chairperson and vice chairperson respectively as BJP-backed councillors enjoy majority in the 10-member council.
The ruling BJP group has six councillors.
