SANGUEM: The Sanguem Municipal Council received over 70 applications for the issuance of trade licenses during the one-day long drive conducted by the Sanguem Municipal Council.
The drive was conducted given the incidences of large number of business establishments in Sanguem being operated sans trade licenses.
While many establishments had not applied for the trade licenses due to ignorance and for not knowing the procedure involved in applying for trade licenses, there were others who simply ignored the issue as no authorities ever insisted on their possession of the trade license.
As an apt measure and in order to do away with the fears associated with the procedure to apply for trade licenses, the SMC conducted the special drive at the council office which was attended by the councilors and the Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar.
