PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that solar-powered ferry boats will shortly start plying on Ribandar to Chorao route.
The plan for State’s first-ever solar hybrid ferry boat has been awaiting inauguration for a long time.
The vessel’s soft launch by the Department of River Navigation (RND) and the Captain of Ports (CoP) was held lately but as per the last reports it was waiting for its electric motor to be installed by an engineering team from Italy. Owing to COVID-19, the vessel was waiting to complete fitments to make it fully operational.
