PONDA: Dharbandora Deputy Collector Pradeep Naik during a meeting with truck owners association of the taluka on Thursday announced the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for transporting e-auctioned and royalty paid ore which will commence from Friday.
The announcement comes following a dispute between local truck owners’ associations over transportation of e-auctioned ore from various mines.
The Deputy Collector rejected the proposal of Shigao locals association for allowing their trucks for transporting ore on priority basis from Bimbal-Shigao mines.
According to SoP, a queue system will be followed during ore transportation from various mines in the taluka that will provide equal opportunity to truck owners for transportation of ore from seven mines.
Collem sarpanch Manish Lambore, who agreed to the SOP, said there are seven mines in the mining belt and expressed hope that this will provide equal opportunity for all.
Terming the decision of Deputy Collector as pre-planned, Shigao local Nilesh Velip informed that they were demanding priority for local truck owners for transporting ore.
