PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar day admitted in the House that drug menace could not be controlled because of the entry of sophisticated drugs.
“I am really worried about drugs. Sophistication of drugs is the reason why police are not able to catch the culprits. Certain foreign nationals are dealing in it,” Parrikar told the State Legislative Assembly Tuesday while replying to the discussion on demands for grants for Home, Police and Fire & Emergency Services.
Nevertheless, Parrikar who hold the Home portfolio, said the police department is paying handsome money to informants, who provide tip offs about the narcotics trade.
He simultaneously warned the MLAs from divulging information about any drug activity in the State.
“Write on a plain paper and send it to me. I will crack down on this activity. I will close those areas where our youngsters are falling prey, but the information should be correct,” he said.
