PONDA: COVID norms in Ponda Taluka are being ignored by people, especially by guests attending marriages where even children are seen without wearing masks.
Similarly, election meetings, which draw a huge crowd in various constituencies of Ponda Taluka where some top leaders of National political parties address meetings, are observed not following the SOPs.
In the Ponda market, no government officials are seem to be strict in following the safe distancing norm which is almost thrown to the wind. These norms were being controlled by the police.
People who have taken double vaccination also appear to be avoiding wearing masks. Sanitisers have almost disappeared from the shops and hotels. No proper care is taken also in the hotels and social distancing norms and masks are rarely used by the guests.
