MARGAO: The district administration is fully gearing up to meet eventuality in view of the controversy over the release of the tiatr `Akantvadi Goem Naka’ produced and directed by Tousif de Navelim.
While the district collector, Venancio Furtado has issued an order to his deputy collector and Mamlatdar to remain present in the collectorate on Saturday, the police said adequate police protection will be given to the tiatr director for the release of the show at the Gomant Vidya Niketan.
Venancio told Herald that the Ram Sena has not made out any case to stop the release of the tiatr on Saturday.
“Their lawyer has only entered a notice in the mail and has not made any case out to stop the tiatr release,” he said. He pointed out that given that Saturday is a holiday, he has issued order for the deputy collector and mamlatdar to remain present in the office from morning to evening as a precautionary measure.
DeputySP Mohan Naik said the police would give adequate protection to the tiatr director for the release of the tiatr at Gomant Vidya Niketan.
“So far, the police have not received any order either from the court or authorities staying the release of the tiatr. Given the situation, the police would give protection to the director as requested by him,” DySP Mohan said.
