MARGAO: South Goa Collector following a meeting with concerned officials on Wednesday has recommended invoking the Indian Railway Act 1989 to compulsorily acquire land from Cansaulim to Vasco to complete the project of double tracking the South Western Railways track.
A meeting was held with the General Manager of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd wherein it was observed that land for double tracking has not been acquired.
It was also noted that efforts made by government has failed to motivate the land owners to give their NOC for the land acquisition.
