MARGAO: Stating that it is shocking Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant tried to defend his act of supplying oxygen to Sindhudurg, South Goa District Congress Committee President Joseph Dias on Monday criticised the Chief Minister for being inhumane and for insulting the gasping Goan COVID patients.
“It is shocking that Chief Minister tried to defend his act of supplying oxygen cylinders to the patients in Sindhudurg by admitting in a way that the lives of Goans gasping in Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim and other hospitals for the shortage of oxygen are secondary to those in Maharashtra. This statement of Chief Minister has proved that he is not only irresponsible and insensitive but inhumane,” charged Joseph.
He said that the South Goa District Congress Committee condemns the Chief Minister’s remarks against Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat. He further demanded that the Chief Minister apologise to the senior Congress leader.
He also said the BJP government in Goa has always treated Goans as second class citizens.
