VASCO: RTI activist Narayan Datta Naik’s brother Tulshidas Naik who is the South Goa district president of BJP has strongly condemned such an attack on his brother who is the well known whistle-blower and has been in forefront exposing scams and taking up several issues from panchayat area. Naik assumes this attack was out of vengeance.
Naik, questioned the safety of the civil society members, activists, journalists who expose the illegalities and has demanded that Chief Minister, who is also have home ministry should take this matter seriously.
“There should be free and fair in-depth investigation of this case. Police should investigate from all angles even looking at the association and relations of Kariya with prominent persons,” he claimed.
Naik said it is surprising to witness daylight assault on an activist and being threatened by two firearm wielding persons when NSA is active in South Goa. “This incident also raises questions about functioning about the police,” he said
