MARGAO: South Goa police have seized illegally stored liquor worth over Rs 15.36 lakh after imposition of Model Code of Conduct till January 19. Colva Police headed by PI Melson Colaco seized liquor bottles worth Rs 11,41,196, while liquor worth Rs 88,423 was confiscated by Quepem Police led by PI Deepak Pedneker.
According to police, 2059.413 litres of liquor was seized in South Goa which was handed over to the Excise Department for further action.
According to police, apart from this, liquor worth Rs 69,880 was seized by Ponda Police while their Margao counterparts confiscated liquor worth Rs 60,871 and the Maina Curtorim Police seized Rs 3,300 worth liquor.
Vasco Police confiscated liquor worth Rs 55,000 while their Verna counterparts seized liquor worth Rs 57,393.
Canacona police seized liquor worth Rs 14,418, Curchorem Police confiscated liquor worth Rs 8,605 and Fatorda Police seized liquor worth Rs 11,163.
