MARGAO: South Goa District police will launch a special tenant/servant/foreigner verification drive to streamline the verification process and also by setting up a separate dedicated ‘Kiosk’ at every Police Station in South District where verification of tenants, servants and foreigners will be done.
As per press release issued by Abhishek Dhania, South Goa SP, it has been observed that several crimes are committed by the migrants / foreigners coming to Goa from other States /country. Similarly, migrants /foreigners with criminal background take refuge in Goa after committing crimes in other States to escape from the hands of law. Likewise, migrants, foreigners and other people coming to Goa become either victims or accused and it becomes difficult to trace them as in most of the cases.the details of such migrants are not available with the Police. .
In view of the above, an initiative “Know Your Neighbours” has been initiated in South District whose primary objective is to spread awareness among the people to be watchful and vigilant on the neighbours residing nearby and to encourage people to submit tenant/servant forms of the tenants residing in their vicinity.
