Thousands of travellers but no sidewalks
A reader brought to Herald’s notice how there are thousands of travellers coming to Goa using the railway. But the sidewalks and pavements along the railway station are filled with weeds, broken trees and garbage and there’s no place to walk on them while the Margao municipality has failed to do anything about them.
Bad roads’ complaint to PMO?
Sanjay Sawant Dessai, Vice principal of Damodar College, who successfully mobilised people on Facebook through his group Movement against Bad Roads and Potholes in Goa, has gone one step up and filed an official compliant with the Prime Minister’s Office about the state of bad roads in Goa. The PMO has assured mediation and now it’s to be seen how the BJP PM pulls up his BJP government in Goa.
Aquem residents shocked…
Aquem residents faced a major jolt when they woke up to their brand newly tarred road outside former MLA late Babu Naik’s house was dug open to lay a small pipe and a private contractor was doing the work for a private construction without PWD or MMC permission. Even worse no action was taken and the new road has been terribly damaged.
