South Goa ZP initiates process for bhavan

MARGAO: The South Goa Zilla Panchayat resolved to initiate the process of Zilla Bhavan Complex in South Goa District during a monthly meeting held, here, on Wednesday.
The meeting was chaired by Chairperson Survarna Tendulkar, wherein several Zilla Panchayat members attended.
Many members stressed upon the development works need to be carried out in their respective constituencies.
Speaking to the media persons after meeting, Chairperson Survana informed that a resolution has been passed to build a Zilla Bhavan in South Goa District. “We have initiated the process to build a Zilla Bhavan in South District, and accordingly a resolution has been passed by the members. There are already two-three places that have been identified by the Zilla Panchayat. However, we have to also see to the availability of the land,” she stated.
Chairperson further said that the Zilla Bhavan will be constructed under the Central government funds.
“We will be sending the resolution to the government to carry out the further procedure,” Suvarna stated.
It has been also resolved to approve the proposals moved by the concerned village panchayat with the permission of the ZP members.
“We have noticed that many panchayat bodies are moving proposals with regard to development works without informing the ZP member. Hence, we have resolved to make aware the concerned ZP member about such proposals, and will not be approved without the consent of the ZP member,” the chairperson said.
South Goa Zilla Panchayat has also resolved to ask the government to appoint one more engineer in order to lessen the stress of present engineers and also to carry out the works at the earliest.
