South Goa ZP plans to purchase mobile morgues

Now, the South Goa Zilla Panchayat has outlined plans to purchase mobile morgues in view of the ailing Hospicio mortuary.
At the Wednesday meeting of the district Panchayat body, the members passed a resolution to go for mobile morgues for each of the Zilla Members. If ZP Chairperson Maria Rebello is to be believed, the Zilla Panchayat has plans to provide minimum four mobile mortuaries to each of the 20 ZP members in the next five years.
“The Hospicio morgue is playing truant every other day. The morgue has become unreliable that bodies are forced to be shunted between Margao and GMC, Bambolim for want of adequate space for the dead to rest in peace”, she added.
