The India Meteorological Department predicted that the Southwest Monsoon has made further advancements across several regions on Tuesday. Favourable conditions are to persist for the continued advancement of the Southwest Monsoon into the following regions within the next 2-3 days.
– Parts of the Maldives & Comorin area, additional sections of the Southwest Bay of Bengal, remaining areas of the Southeast Bay of Bengal, more parts of the Central Bay of Bengal, and specific areas of the Northeast Bay of Bengal.
– Rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms is expected in isolated areas of the North and South districts in Goa. It is advised that people avoid being in open spaces and maintain a safe distance from trees and poles for their own safety.
Rainfall and Thunderstorms are expected in South India. Over the next five days, South India can anticipate light to moderate fairly widespread rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. The following areas are likely to be affected:
– Kerala and Lakshadweep are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall, with the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
– South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh can expect scattered rainfall during this period. In addition, heavy rainfall is anticipated at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on 30th May.
– On the 30th and 31st of May, heavy rainfall is expected over Tamil Nadu, as well as the Coastal and South Interior regions of Karnataka. Kerala is likely to witness heavy rainfall from 30th May to 3rd June.
