MARGAO: In the wake of recent communal clash that took place in Baina Vasco, the South Goa Superintend of Police (SP) convened a meeting on Wednesday at the South Goa police headquarters in Margao, which was attended by the social leaders of the Christian, Hindu and Muslim communities in the district. This meeting follows the recent meeting held in Vasco where a peace committee had been formed in the Vasco town to monitor any issues of communal flares up and to use the committee as a platform to amicably resolve and address any issues that arise. Similarly, the South Goa SP has now formed a district level peace committee and he has appealed to the groups to work towards maintaining the communal harmony.
