SP Gawas issues advisory for places of worship in South Goa

MARGAO: Superintendent of Police South Arvind Gawas has issued an advisory for places of worship asking that these places including their parking areas be well illuminated and reducing the entry points to the minimum with only one being ideal as it is easy to monitor with CCTV cameras.
The advisory while asking to have adequate security personnel urged the establishments to hire security guards only from registered agencies. They are also advised to provide them with a torch, lathi and a register that should be signed by the police on patrol after checking the alertness of the guards.
Door Frame metal detectors are not only suggested but every visitor to the place of worship should be asked to go through them according to the advisory which also suggests checking baggage either manually or through a baggage scanner.
The cash or donation box should be cleared every day and if that is not done then it should be embedded in the wall and it is advised that all gold and silver ornaments be kept in a bank locker and if that is found to be too small then a safe with good locking system is recommended to be set up in the premises.
