SP North asks for report regarding Dudu’s juice shop

Reacts to Herald report that showed Dudu running a juice shop within the EDM festival area

PANJIM: North Goa Superintendent of Police Karthik Kashyap has sought a report from the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Mapusa seeking to know how Israeli national David Driham, alias Dudu, was operating a juice shop within the EDM at Vagator.
Kashyap, who is holding charge as SP North Goa, said, “I have sought a report from SDPO Mapusa on how he (Dudu) was operating a juice shop and also regarding the status of the case against him particularly of the Foreigners Act cases.”
Herald, in its December 30 edition, had published a report with a picture of Dudu operating a juice shop within the EDM festival area at Vagator, where a senior police officer was seen tasting the fruit salad at his shop.
On October 28, 2006, the Anjuna police booked him for overstaying. The State government issued a “Leave India Notice” to him on November 2, 2006 that he challenged in court.  According to his submission in court, he had come to Goa on a business visa from Bangkok and was staying in a rented house at Anjuna since 2004.
The 2010 NDPS case that was booked by Goa Police was transferred to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for investigation. CBI has filed charges against Dudu in the NDPS court and the case is pending for trial. Dudu was also arrested by Mumbai ANC and charged under the NDPS Act in a drug case.
Dudu has also commenced carpentry work in Anjuna recently and is accepting contracts for making wooden cottages.
