SP Rank Officer Prabhudesai (Goa Traffic Police) inducted into IPS

He is the fourth officer to be inducted into IPS.

PANJIM: Goa Police’s yet another officer Superintendent of Traffic Police Shekhar Prabhudesai, has been inducted into the Indian Police Service (IPS). The State has recommended Prabhudesai’s name for the elevation in the Central service cadre to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Committee, which has been approved, an officer said. 

A notification is awaited wherein the segment of AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories) cadre will be decided. He is the fourth officer to be inducted into IPS. 

Meanwhile, Goa Police is likely to witness another round of promotions of the higher ranking officers as sources indicate that nine Deputy Superintendents of Police will be promoted to the rank of SP while one Police Inspector will be promoted as DySP. The recommendation file with the Goa Public Service Commission is expected to be reverted to the department in the next few days.
