MAPUSA: The meeting of the Mapusa Municipal Council on Wednesday turned stormy when the Chairperson asked a councillor to ‘get out’ of the meeting.
There were heated arguments between the Chairperson Priya Mishal and councillor Shashank Narvekar. The argument reached a point where the Mishal asked the councillor to get out. This infuriated the councillor who stood up and pointed out that the presiding officer was using unparliamentary language. “Get out. Go,” the presiding officer said which prompted the councillor to say that if she wished she could get him out.
The councillor pointed out to the fellow councillors about the conduct of the chairperson.
Narvekar asked the Chairperson why advertisement has not been issued for the posts, which had already lapsed. “It is not your office. It is the office of the people of Mapusa,” the Councillor said.
The Chairperson was heard repeatedly asking the councillor to take his seat. “I am the chairperson, who are you?,” she asked the councillor.
