PANJIM: The State Police Complaints Authority (SPCA) has decided to conduct an inquiry into the double murder of daily wage workers Shivaji Nayak and his wife Sujata, in May this year.
The decision comes after the government withdrew its complaint against five police officers/officials for not taking immediate and proper action amidst allegations that a second murder could have been averted had the police acted promptly on a tip-off about Shivaji’s killing.
The inquiry report will be submitted to the govt for action. Oswan Fernandes amd Ramesh Bhagwe are behind bars for the killing.
