BICHOLIM: Bicholim MLA and Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar on Sunday assured to provide financial aid from the State Government and Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the families from Bicholim taluka whose houses were damaged due to heavy rains this season.
Earlier, the Speaker provided financial assistance to some affected families from his own funds.
Patnekar made this assurance while inspecting the damaged houses from Bicholim taluka on Sunday.
The areas he visited included Sal, Advalpal, Latambarcem, Nanora and surrounding areas.
Mayem MLA Pravin Zantye also visited monsoon affected houses in Mayem area and provided financial assistance to an affected family.
He also assured to provide financial assistance to other families though the State government funds.
Meanwhile, Bicholim Mamlatdar Pravinjay Pandit has informed that 38 houses have been damaged so far due to heavy rains. He estimated the loss at around Rs 15 lakh.
